I spent the bank holiday weekend down in the West Country with my mum. We intended going to the seaside but got a bit side-tracked and ended up down a track at Mangerton Mill, a 17th century watermill.
We went into the old fashioned cafe and it smelt like my great-aunt Edie's house. Then we saw the wonderful menu. Amongst other things, you could have a Mill Tea which included a slice of bread and butter with jam, a piece of cake and a cup of tea, you could have a Country Tea which involved cucumber sandwiches or you could have jam, marmite or peanut butter sandwiches. In sight, smell and taste, I felt myself transported back to my childhood.
We had a good old Dorset cream tea, but it jumped into our mouths and journeyed onward to its final resting place, our stomachs, before I could get a snap of it.
