Visitors

We had lovely visitors this weekend. 

They helped with the puzzle

We egged each other on to buy new shoes

They gave us lovely house warming presents (don't you love beautiful packaging) 

 And most importantly of all we went for a picnic

 What a day!

What a place. That's what weekends are all about.

The sun has got his hat on, Hip Hip Hip Hooray!

The sun has come out and it feels like summer. For me, that can only mean one thing. Summer dresses! I love them. I want something new. And this is what I want!! :)

It's all about the flowers

Everywhere looks so beautiful and joyful at the moment. It's wonderful watching everything explode back into life. Every time you look there's more blossom on the trees. I get the sense that even the plants themselves feel exuberant.

 

 

 

 

Hannah Hoch

A little while ago I came across this picture. I thought the seahorses were so sweet. They remind me of little blown glass animals.

So I did a bit of research and was surprised to discover that the artist is long dead. She was a German Dada artist and was one of the originators of photomontage. 

I love this group shot. It is so of its time. They all look a bit surprised to discover a photographer in the room. Hannah Hoch is on the left.

Now I see where I am going wrong!

People keep asking if we've finished doing up our house yet. The answer is fairly consistent. No, there's still loads to do. 

 And now I realise why. We've been doing it wrong; we haven't been singing while we work! Well, it all changes here. Later on I have some floorboards to varnish and I am going to be hitting those high notes.

When I ask the man of the house what he thinks of them he just shrugs his shoulders and does something sort of scrunched up with his mouth.

I remember seeing her in The VIPs and at the time, thinking her the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
