It was a sunny day, not a cloud was in the sky

It was a day of summer dresses...

Like Vix, I had a choice of two colours when I bought this. I'd already picked this red and white one out when I spotted the exact same dress in turquoise and white. I asked the seller what the story was and he told me it was deadstock from a shop in Manchester which closed in the 1970s.

And a day for a parcel of joy which could have been put in the post box 40 years ago...courtesy of the very lovely Lady Curtise of Sheffield!

Great excitement. I picked it up from the PO sorting place then sat in the car and ripped it open! Such lovely treasures.

A Little Miss Muffet mug..
A folksy serviette...

An Arabian Nights tea towel
And a cute as anything book featuring an OBD*!!!!!
*Obligatory blogging deer.

I love everything, thank you so much Curtise.

It's just after half past nine at night and we're currently sitting outside drinking wine and listening to some tuuuunes. Every now and again I am moved to get up and do a bit of patio dancing. Does it get any better than this?

What kind of a day have you had?

Ha, I missed the OBD, what sort of a blogger am I?!
Oh yes, a bit of alfresco wine drinking and patio dancing and a 1970s frock of great loveliness - that does indeed sound like the perfect day. Can we see the turquoise dress too please? You look as though you should feature in your own illustrations, Tania, all big eyes and cute plaits and patchwork and flowers!
I have had a good day so far - hair cut and colour, wandered about in town sans kiddies (always a bonus), now home for a cup of tea, and out for Chinese later. Life is good! xxxx

Beautiful summery frock for sure, I'm rather smitten with it! Such lovely pressies from Curtise they all do look like your taste, I love that lil mug, reminds me of your adorable art! It must have been in the air last night I found myself rocking out and dancing until my hubby came out of his office and caught me being silly. Dancing and singing are such a joy!
I hope your weekend is just as glourious!

That dress is absolute perfection - the print, the shape , the fit! I don't see you in red often and it looks stunning.
Show us the turquoise one, please!!!
Isn't the weather just perfect? We were in the beer garden until the early hours yesterday and the temperature didn't drop.
Lady Curtise has sent a cracker of a parcel. I discovered the plate to that cup over at my parents, I don't remember it at all but I probably had a dizzy fit when I saw the spider and insisted on it being hidden away!
Hoorah for OBDs, blogland would be a duller place without them! xxxxxx
