But uh-oh those summer nights!

We ate outside two nights in a row this week. It felt like a staycation!
Tagliatelle with sage, butter and capers with salad and wine. Oh and parmesan on top. Hugh lovers, he's done it again. Just scroll down for the recipe.
We discovered these candles on our last night in Dubrovnik when we went for cocktails on the terrace at the Hilton with our last few kuna. They are battery operated and move through different colours in phases. They put you in a trance.
Outdoor fairy lights above the patio. All twinkly and beautiful. The man of the house particularly loves them in winter.

The stars of the garden show at the moment are these foxgloves. How I love them.

Yes we need to grab those al fresco meals whenever we can, don't think there'll be an opportunity today tho!
Your tagliatelle looks scrumptious and your patio so prettily illuminated by the Croatian lanterns. Isn't Dubrovnik wonderful.

That's it, I'm inviting myself over for tea!
Your cosy corner is gorgeous, I love the hypnotic Croatian lanterns (yet another reason to go there) and Huge's recipe sounds delicious.
Love all those cushions, did you make them? Is that a rare Chesterfield stag making an appearance? Is he looking for his herd of OBDs?
I love Foxgloves, too. I haven't got any! xxxxxxxx

That looks so tasty! Well done Hugh, I must try this. Your little corner of the garden looks so colourful, chic and cosy, I'm coming over for tea too! I love all those lanterns, they're all very pretty. I adore fox gloves but the ones in the woods are taking ages to come out

What a lovely setting! Red bricks and vintage cushions ahh! and the dinner looks divine too. I love foxgloves, digitalis purpurea in latin which makes them sound much more important - many modern heart medications have been synthesized from their chemical constituents... although now I'm more seeing them with little foxes inside with gloves on hehe

What a lovely area you have created on the patio for outside dining. Those foxgloves are heavenly. Like me, they must favour a cooler English summer! xx

What a beautiful setting in which to twiddle your tagliatelle and neck some wine, mmmmm! The recipe sounds delicious, your garden is lovely, all the fabrics and prints are so pretty, and lanterns and fairy lights too? Perfection!
I love foxgloves too, I love how they self-seed and attract bees and look as though they should ring if you shake the stems! The sight of a bee (Balthazar? Bertie? Beaumont?) pottering in and out of all the bell flowers is a simple yet wonderful pleasure. xxxx
