We took Nottingham by storm or was it the other way round?

Oh, we had the best time, Vix, Curtise, Annie, Serena and I.

The calm before the storm. A nice cuppa at Hopkinson's whilst waiting for the Birmingham contingent to arrive. Serena was a first timer at one of our bloggy get-togethers, but she fitted in just perfectly.
Vix looked a gazillion dollars in this dress. She is probably the only person who could have got into it, since she is the size of a pixie. We had a bit of fun with the changing room which is just a hoop with a bit of fabric dangling. Getting changed in there was an adventure.

Present giving. We were as giddy as a gang of drunk women. Oh OK, by that time we WERE a gang of drunk women.
There were so many presents it was like Christmas morning.
Dutch clog salt and pepper shakers, groovy fabric and amazing Dortmund scene with OBDs, from Vix.
Lovely home made soap and card from Serena.
Fabulously soft vintage house coat and cuckoo clock brooch from Curtise.
Gorgeous notebook and necklace from Annie.
It was cold and wet outside, but the reception at the wonderful BAKLASH couldn't have been warmer. Meg looked after us beautifully.
With a special offer of a bag of clothes for £10, it was like supermarket sweep in there. Meg told us she had managed to get 8 items in a bag before, but I'm sure Vix blew that record away. We kept going round and round the rails, until we had practically assembled all the stock.
There was just time for one last drink by the station before we said our farewells. In Curtise's case we said it a few times, because she kept popping up as she did a crazy circuit looking for her train. She made it with seconds to spare. There was a wholesale gasp of relief from the rest of us as we saw her jump on.

What a day!

What a brilliant day we had. I loved it! (I know I ALWAYS say that...)
A bag of choice frocks that fit like a dream for a tenner. It's unbelieveable. I'm still pinching myself for not connecting Eve with the woman who befriended me as a teenager...amazing!
Look at me nagging Serena into buying more than she needs. I'm such a bad influence.
So glad that that gorgeous Global cocktail dress was still at Hopkinsons!
Thank you for taking us on a trip round Nottingham, it's a brilliant place. xxxx

Oh it was such fun! You and Serena were wonderful hostesses, and I think we all made some quite excellent purchases. Aren't we clever?
It WAS like Christmas morning, wasn't it? I love the Wetherspoons tradition, and now we've added Porn Star cocktails to the formula, it's even better!
Hopkinson's and Baklash were particularly fabulous, I thought, and Vix's amazing connection with Eve is just witchy. We must go back! Oh and Vix in that dress - va va boom!
Another thing I love - that all our photos are blurry and bonkers and random and completely indicative of our day!
What the hell is it with me and trains? I am nearly 50, I have been catching trains most of my life, why can't I find the right platform?! But at least I can still run.... xxxxx

This looks like the best of times, a bloggy meet-up with vintage shopping and Porn Star quaffing...what's not to like? Hopkinsons and Baklash look right up my street...a bagful for a tenner, almost jumble sale prices. What gorgeous gifts too, love your cuckoo clock brooch from Curtise.

What a brilliant day we had! I was telling my Mom about it, and couldn't stop smiling. I loved all my purchases, and was so spoilt with all the wonderful gifts. Baklash was absolutely amazing, and I loved Hopkinsons too, so much fab stuff crammed into one place. You and Serena were fab hostesses. I'm coming to Nottingham again!

Nottingham is the place to be with a whole bag full for a tenner! I'll have to add it to my list of places for blogger meetups. I'm glad I'll be meeting you on the 29th in Walsall. I hope we have the same vintage-treasure-finding-luck as you all did in Nottingham.
