Snow excitement

Is it too predictable to post about the snow? When it first arrives, I still get excited. Obviously by Thursday I shall be whinging as loudly as everyone else.
I've had these wellies for years. When I first got them, I wore them to do a bit of gardening at my old house. My neighbour laughed his head off and called me Margot Leadbetter. I was rather pleased. I'd always seen myself as more of a Barbara Good; small but lifting heavy things and doing the dirty jobs with a touch of mud on my face.

That said, I have been known to deliver the words 'Thank you very much, Jerry' in quite a convincing way when the man of the house steps out of line. He's not called Jerry, but he knows.

I'd love to know, which one are you, Margot or Barbara? Or maybe another character? I got Marge when I did the 'Which Simpson are you?' quiz.
We finished the puzzle. All the pieces were there, which I was very pleased about.  It was an addiction for about three days.
I forgot to mention we went to Saltburn over Christmas. Seems like they are the yarn-bombing centre of the universe. They even yarn-bomb their dogs!

Ooh, I think that knitted lady is Helga! Her fame has obviously extended as far as Saltburn!

We have had an icing sugar dusting of snow, the kids were hopeful that we would have a bucket load and school would be closed, but alas not. Your snowy pics are lovely. I don't own any wellies, is this remiss of me?

I definitely err on the side of Margot, in the dress sense anyway. Hopefully not in the snobbishness! xxxxx

Oh that is so funny! It IS Helga!! :) Why didn't I see it?

Yes, him indoors wanted a bucket load of snow so that he didn't have to go to work. No chance.

I admit, I do love a pair of wellies. As children know, they are very liberating. I could see you in an elegant pair. I thought you would say Margot for the outfits, but definitely not for the lack of sense of humour or anything else! xxx

Snow is so magical! Love your pics and especially that shot of your bird house : hope a little robin is snuggled up inside it by now xx

We do have a robin who visits our garden, and every now and again he sits on the bird house. Sadly I never get to the camera in time. The lady next door runs a bird cafe and was doing extremely good business today. xxx

Ha, I've been immortalised in knitted form!! It is ridiculously like me!!
I think I'm a Margot!
Snow. As an Australian born wench, I had never seen it until I moved to NZ. I was excited at first, but now I am over it! It sure does look pretty, but ugh, the soggy aftermath!

Before I read the post, I thought that doll was supposed to be Helga von Trollop!

It's the little red topknot and funky dress which does it, but it doesn't capture your prettiness dear Helga. xxx

what is the knitted Helga holding? Looks like some large vegetables. That dog is very cute too! I really love that little bird house in the snow too!
Hmm I think I'm like you, I'm somewhere between Barbara and Margot, there's bits of both of them I can identify with!

I rather like dogs in coats, they look so cute, and some of the shiver so much I think they really need them :)

Knitted Helga is holding a platter with a massive turkey on it. She was attached to a fence right next to the town christmas tree. xxx

The snow is utterly delightful - particularly for us sweltering in the never-ending heatwave down here!

I am a mixture of Margot and Barbara - I do love to faff about with enormous hair and caftans, and I can be quite bossy but I also don't mind mucking in with a bit of... actually, I'm Margot through and through. I farking hate gardening and baking and all of that nonsense. And dirty hands? Ergh, no thanks! But I do like overalls. I'm sorry... this was all about me, wasn't it?

HAHA! That's great! Gardening, baking and all that nonsense! No need to apologise, I love to hear about other people, it's far more entertaining!

I've decided, when I grow up I want to be Margot! xxx
